Beijing (RWH) For the second time, the Coordination Commission of the International Olympic Committee IOC with IBSF President Ivo Ferriani visited Beijing, host city for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
“The IOC Coordination Commission visit in Beijing last week was successful and confirms the great commitment of the Organizing Committee BOCOG to create the best conditions to organize the most sustainable modern Olympic Winter Games”, said Ivo Ferriani, who is IOC member since August 2016. “The interest in China for our Sports, Bobsleigh and Skeleton, is very high. This is a great opportunity to create important Athlete Role Models for the young Chinese generation.”
The IOC officials were pleased with the progress, also regarding the planned sliding center: “We had the experts, both from the IBSF and the international stage, and we have local experts”, said the IOC Executive Director for the Olympic Games, Christophe Dubi, in a press release at Olympic.org. “The collaboration between the public authorities, that are involved, and the Federation is very, very good. We have seen good progress in the sliding center.”
Additional to the Coordination Commission for Beijing 2022, IBSF President Ivo Ferriani is also member of the IOC Sustainability and Legacy, the Athletes‘ Entourage and the Digital & Technology Commissions.
