Lake Placid (RWH) US bobsleigh pilot Steven Holcomb was inducted into USA Bobsled & Skeleton’s (USABS) Hall of Fame. Holcomb is the first inductee to have the Hall of Fame’s 10-year clause waived. The three-time Olympic medalist, 2010 Olympic Champion in 4-Man Bobsleigh, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2017, at the age of 37. He will be the only member of the sixth class of the USABS Hall of Fame.
In addition to the induction, Holcomb also earned this year’s Men’s Bobsled Athlete of the Year award for his performance during the 2016-2017 season: He finished overall second (2-Man Bobsleigh) and third (4-Man Bobsleigh) in BMW IBSF World Cup, including five World Cup medals. ©RWH2017
