Ilmenau (RWH) Two bobsleigh Olympic Champions, Canadian Pierre Lueders and André Lange from Germany will be coaches in China. This is reported by the newspaper Freies Wort.

Canadian Pierre Lueders, who will be head coach, won 1998 Olympic Gold in Nagano in the 2-man bobsleigh. 2006 in Torino, he was Olympic silver medalist. In addition to World Championships gold in 2-man bobsleigh 2004 and 2005, Pierre Lueders won six more World Championships medals and was eleven times at the top of the overall World Cup.

With Olympic gold in 2002 (4-man bobsleigh), 2006 (2- and 4-man bobsleigh) and 2010 (2-man bobsleigh) as well as Olympic silver in 2010 in 4-man, André Lange is the most successful bobsleigh pilot at Winter Games. He also won eight world titles.

At the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, both worked as coaches for host nation Korea: André Lange at luge, Pierre Lueders won 4-man silver with the Korean bobsleigh athletes. ©RWH2018
