Bath (RWH) British Skeleton slider David Swift announced his retirement from the sport. As the Federation British Bobsleigh & Skeleton Association reports, the 31-years-old athlete after more than 80 international races, including two World Championships, decided not to return to skeleton sport for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.
David Swift, a former sprinter, won a silver medal at the 2008 Junior World Championships and was Overall Champion of IBSF Intercontinental Cup (ICC) in 2015.
The 2015-2016 season saw him winning his first Europa Cup Gold in St Moritz (SUI), in his final race for Great Britain he finished 16th in the BMW IBSF World Championships in Innsbruck (AUT) in February. ©RWH2016
