Elisabeth Vathje second ahead of Elena Nikitina
Winterberg (RWH): The defending World Cup winner Jacqueline Lölling of Germany has won the fourth race in the 2017/2018 BMW IBSF World Cup in Winterberg (GER). In front of a home crowd, packed with cheering fans lining the track, the World Champion secured the best time on both runs and pushed last year’s winner Elisabeth Vathje of Canada (0.24 seconds back) and Russia’s Elena Nikitina (0.25 seconds back) into second and third place respectively.
After the fourth of eight races, Jacqueline Lölling (GER, 810 points) has extended her lead with her second win and remains at the top of the overall standings for the 2017/2018 BMW IBSF World Cup at the halfway point of the season.
Elisabeth Vathje (CAN, 756), the 2015 World Championship bronze medallist, has climbed from third to take second place. Tina Hermann (GER, 738), fifth in Winterberg, begins the second half of the Olympic season in third place overall.
