Lake Placid (RWH) With the first qualification races to the Youth Olympic Winter Games 2016 (Lillehammer, NOR, February 12-20, 2016) the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF starts the 2015-2016 winter season. On the icetrack of Lake Placid Olympic Sports Complex (USA), the young skeleton athletes compete in their first races to OMEGA IBSF Youth Qualification Series on October 24-25. The bobsleigh pilots will write Olympic history in Lillehammer when competing in the Monobob for the first time. They start their qualification races in Calgary’s Canada Olympic Park  on November 4-5. Prior to the races, 27 young athletes aged between 14 and 17 from four nations train on both tracks with experienced coaches. The OMEGA IBSF Youth Qualification Series continue in December and January with races in Igls (AUT), at the YOG track in Lillehammer and in St. Moritz.

Also on the IBSF sports calendar for the 2015-2016 season are eight races to BMW IBSF World Cup starting on November 27-29 in Altenberg (GER) and to IBSF North American Cup, Europe Cup and Intercontinental Cup, respectively, as well as six races to IBSF Para-sport World Cup Tour. The Junior World Championships take place in Winterberg (GER, January 17-23), season’s highlight are the BMW IBSF World Championships in Igls (AUT, February 12-21, 2016). ©RWH2015
