Park City (RWH) Skeleton pilot Eric Eierdam from USA and monobob pilot Lonnie Bissonnette from Canada made history in Park City (USA) as the first ever IBSF Para-Sport World Champions.
Eric Eierdam, also Overall Champion in Para-Skeleton World Cup 2015 and 2016, lived up to his role as favourite and won World Championships gold with a 3.48 seconds lead ahead of his competitors. The silver medal went to Briton Matt Richardson, who was the first ever Para-Skeleton World Cup winner in November 2014. World Championships bronze medal in Park City went to Brendan Dover from Australia.
In Para-Monobob, the first World Champion in his sports is Canadian Lonnie Bissonnette. The Overall Champion of IBSF World Cup 2015/2016 relegated The Latvian athletes Alvils Brants and Arturs Klots to silver and bronze medal positions, respectively.
