Richard Oelsner and Kim Kalicki win U23 World Championships
Winterberg (RWH) Richard Oelsner (GER, Two Man Bob) and Mica McNeill (GBR, Women’s Bob) are the 2017 Junior World Champions.
At the IBSF Junior World Championships Bobsleigh in Winterberg (GER), gold in two man bob went to Richard Oelsner/Alexander Schueller ahead of Pablo Nolte/Christopher Weber (both GER) with silver. Bennett Buchmüller/Niklas Scherer (GER) and Dominik Dvorak/Jan Sindelaar (CZE) tied for bronze. In Women’s Bobsleigh, British duo Mica McNeill/Mica Moore won the gold medal, the German teams Anna Köhler/Franziska Fritz and Kim Kalicki/Lisa-Sophie Gericke finished with silver and bronze, respectively.
All current Junior World Champions are qualified to start at the BMW IBSF World Championships Bob + Skeleton 2017 in Königssee (13.-26. February 2017).
In the new U23 ranking in Junior World Championships Bob, gold also went to the duo Oelsner/Schueller ahead of Dmitry Popov/Mikhail Mordasov (RUS) and Jonas Jannusch/Benedikt Hertel (GER). In women’s U23 World Championships, Kim Kalicki/Lisa-Sophie Gericke won gold, followed by Lubov Chernykh/Yulia Belomestnykh and Alena Osipenko/Elena Mamedova (all RUS) with silver and bronze, respectively. ©RWH2017
