Milano (RWH) Six bobsleigh and two skeleton athletes Italy has named for its A-squad in the Olympic winter 2017/2018, as was announced by the federation Federazione Italiana Sport Invernali (FISI) at fisi.org.
As skeleton athletes, Joseph Luke Cecchini and Mattia Gaspari join the team. In bobsleigh, FISI named 2012 Youth Olympic Champion Patrick Baumgartner and Francesco Costa, Simone Fontana, Giovanni Mulassano, Costantino Ughi and Mattia Variola.
Pilot Simone Bertazzo, 2007 World Championships bronze medallist, 2008 European Championships bronze medallist and 2011 third in Overall World Cup, can quailfy for the A squad in scheduled performance tests in July and September. ©RWH2017
