Lausanne (RWH) The International Olympic Committe IOC, endorsed by the Athletes’ Entourage Commission, launched new Coaches Lifetime Achievement Awards. Olympic athletes have until 15 September 2017 to get nominations in via the Olympic Athletes’ Hub.

The awards honour retired coaches who have made an outstanding contribution to the lives of Olympians and the Olympic Movement. „We appreciate the vital importance and influence of coaches in the holistic development of an athlete“, IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell said in an IOC press release. „As a result, it is an exciting opportunity to acknowledge the role they play, and we look forward to receiving nominations from the Olympic Movement.“

The awards will be handed out at the IOC Women and Sport Gala on 9 November 2017 to one female and one male former coach who have participated in at least one edition of the Olympic Games. ©RWH2017
