IBSF-President Ivo Ferriani and Secretary General Heike Größwang at 131st IOC Session in Peru
The venue for the 2024 and 2028 Summer Olympic Games will be selected at the general assembly on 13 September 2017. An IOC press release from 31 July has indicated that Paris (FRA) will be given the 2024 nod, with Los Angeles (USA) to follow as host of the 2028 Summer Games. The 130th IOC Session in June had decided to award two summer games at the same time.
In Lima, the IOC Members get reports of the Organising Committees and the Coordination Commissions for the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022. Also the Youth Olympic Winter Games (YOG) 2020 in Lausanne are part of the program. At the closing day of the session on 16 September, elections are scheduled. Amongst others, one new Vice President, new IOC Members, Honorary Members and members of the Executive Board will be elected.
Ahead of the IOC Session, Ivo Ferriani and Heike Größwang will attend a meeting of the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF). ©RWH2017
