Eight World Cup races, ten Para World Cups and three World Championships as highlights

Lausanne (RWH) The International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF has presented the preliminary sports calendar for the 2018/2019 season.

Accordingly, eight BMW IBSF World Cups, Intercontinental Cups, European Cups and North American Cups as well as ten Para Sport World Cups are on the program for the post-Olympic winter. In addition, there will be the BMW IBSF World Championships in Whistler (CAN), the IBSF Junior World Championships in Königssee (GER) and the IBSF Para Sport World Championships at the end of March 2019.

Also part of the IBSF sports calendar is the OMEGA Youth Monobob Series for young athletes as the first preparation for the Youth Olympic Winter Games Lausanne 2020 (YOG Lausanne 2020). In four training events - two in North America in December 2018 and two in Europe in February 2019 - young athletes can gain initial experience with the Monobob. The training events are each completed with a race, which, however, does not count as YOG qualifier. The qualifying races will take place exclusively in winter 2019/2020.

The IBSF season 2018/2019 will start at the end of October with a training week on the World Championship course in Whistler (CAN). There, the race season begins with the IBSF North American Cup (November 5-11, 2018). © RWH2018
