Lake Placid (RWH) Mike Kohn is the new head coach of the US bobsleigh athletes. This was announced by the federation USA Bobsled & Skeleton (USABS).
Mike Kohn, a former push athlete and long time member of the US coaching staff, replaces Brian Shimer, who will stay with the team as the federation's driving coach. Shimer as pilot with Kohn as push athlete won the 2002 Olympic 4-man bronze medal.
Kohn will be aided by another Olympic medalist, with Shauna Rohbock added to the staff as an assistant coach. Shauna Rohbock/Valerie Fleming claimed the 2006 Olympic silver medal in women’s bobsleigh.
Tuffield Latour, who also was the organization’s director of sport operations for the last Olympic cycle, will now focus solely on his duties as the US team’s skeleton head coach. ©RWH2018
