Berchtesgaden (RWH) Dr. Christian Schneider, Chair of the Medical Committee of the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF, was named „2018 Sports Physician of the Year“. That was announced by the German Federation „Bob- und Schlittenverband für Deutschland (BSD)“. The Association for Sports Medicine presented the award at the Sports Physician Congress of the German National Olympic Committee DOSB in Hamburg.

„To  be named „Sports Physician of the Year“ is the highest award in German sports medicine and a huge honour for  me“, said Dr. Christian Schneider. „It also shows great appreciation for our work and I accept the award representing all my colleagues in sports medicine.“

Together with his US colleague Dr. Eugene Byrne, Dr. Christian Schneider since 2013 is Chair of the IBSF Medical Committee. The Medical Committee takes care of all sports medicine matters regarding bobsleigh and skeleton. ©RWH2018
