Ilsenburg (RWH) Richard Oelsner, 2018 Junior World Champion in 2-Man Bobsleigh and U23 World Champion in 4-Man Bobsleigh, is one of the winners at the 21st Summer Bobsleigh and Skeleton Cup in Ilsenburg, Germany.

Pushed by Nils Dabrunst, Issam Ammour and Paul Hensel, Oelsner won the 4-Man competition of the traditional Summer Cup. In 2-Man Bobsleigh, Oelsner/Ammour finished second behind Hans-Peter Hannighofer/Christian Röder.

Andreea Grecu from Romania, 2018 Junior World Champion in Women’s Bobsleigh, finished second with pilot Maria Constantin behind Anne Lobenstein/Madlin Dossow (GER).

Maria Constantin also competed in skeleton in Ilsenburg and came in with the second best time. Winner of the skeleton competition was Romanian teammate Teodora Vlad. Additionally, Maria Constantin, 16th at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, for the first time in the history of the competition piloted a 4-Women Bobsleigh. Push athletes were Teodora Vlad, Andreea Grecu und Teodora Toma.

Marko Huebenbecker (GER), 2013 World Champion in 4-Man Bobsleigh wit pilot Maximilian Arndt, was guest starter in Ilsenburg – not as usual as push athlete but as pilot himself.

More than 1.500 fans watched the Summer Cup in the city center of Ilsenburg and cheered for the athletes from Germany, Romania and Switzerland. ©RWH2018
