Viktoria Cernanska and Fabian Gisler winner of Monobob races
Königssee (RWH) The skeleton athletes Anastasia Tsyganova and Dmitry Knysh from Russia as well as Viktoria Cernanska from Slovakia and Swiss Fabian Gisler are the winners of the OMEGA IBSF Youth Series at Königssee.
Anastasia Tsyganova won the women's skeleton race with 1,26 seconds ahead of Austrian Annia Unterscheider. Polina Tiurina from Russia (2,73 seconds back) finished third.
In men's skeleton, Dmitry Knysh won ahead of Rasmus Johansen of Denmark (2,64 seconds back). The 16 year old is son of the former Danish Bobsleigh pilot Tom Johansen, who today is the president of the national federation. Lars Rumo from Switzerland finished third (2,72 seconds back).
In Women's Monobob, the victory went to Viktoria Cernanska from Slovakia, as before in St. Moritz. Georgeta Popescu from Romania (0,11 seconds back) took rank two ahead of German Maja Wagner (0,27 seconds back).
The winner of the Men's Monobob was Fabian Gisler from Switzerland. Second place went to Romanian Andrei Nica (0,86 seconds back). The winner of St. Moritz, Quentin Sanzo from Liechtenstein (0,95 seconds back), finished third at Königssee.
The OMEGA Youth Series serves to prepare the young athletes for the Winter Youth Olympic Games 2020 in Lausanne (SUI). Before each race, the boys and girls train intensively on the respective tracks. ©RWH2019
