BMW IBSF World Championships in Altenberg as Highlight – ICC finale at PyeongChang Olympic track
Lausanne (RWH) Nearly 200 races in nine countries and on three continents are on the sports calendar of the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF.
With two events in the USA the BMW IBSF Bobsleigh + Skeleton World Cup will kick-off the 2019/2020 season. From 25 November to 1 Dezember 2019 the first of eight World Cups is scheduled for Park City, from 9 to 15 December the tour continues in Lake Placid. With tracks in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Latvia, a total of six nations host the BMW IBSF World Cup. The IBSF European Championships in Skeleton and 2-woman and 2-man Bobsleigh are due to take place as race-in-race at the finale in Sigulda (LAT, 10-16 February 2020), the host track for the 4-man Bobsleigh European Championships will be decided in the next weeks.

Highlight of the 2019/2020 winter will be the BMW IBSF World Championships Bobsleigh & Skeleton 2020 in Altenberg (GER, (GER, 17 February to 1 March).
For the Europe Cup, the North America Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, eight races for each discipline are scheduled. The kick-off to Europe and Intercontinental-Cup is planned for Sochi (RUS), The ICC finale will take place in PyeongChang (KOR) - the two Olympic sliding tracks of the 2014 and 2018 Winter Games. The Junior European Champions 2020 will be crowned at the last Europe Cup events in Altenberg (GER, Skeleton, 22-25 January) and Innsbruck (AUT, Bobsleigh, 27 January - 2 February). The IBSF Junior World Championships Bobsleigh & Skeleton 2020 will take place in Winterberg (GER, 3 -9 February).
The Para athletes will compete in ten races for the IBSF Para Sport World Cup 2019/2020, including the Para-Sport European Championships in Oberhof (GER, 10-14 December). The Para Sport World Championships 2020 will take place in March 2020 with date and venue to be announced at a later time.
The youngest bobsleigh and skeleton athletes eagerly await the third edition of Youth Olympic Winter Games 2020 (YOG) in Lausanne (SUI, 9 to 22 January). The qualification for the girls and boys aged 14 to 18 already starts in October 2019 with the first races of OMEGA Youth Series in Lillehammer (NOR). In November and December, more qualification races are scheduled for Königssee (GER) as well as Lake Placid and Park City (USA). ©RWH2019
