Lausanne (RWH) The International Olympic Committee IOC has released the reports of the Evaluation Commission regarding the two candidates for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2026, Stockholm-Åre (Sweden) and Milan-Cortina (Italy). On 4 pm CET today (24 May), Commission Chair Octavian Morariu and Olympic Games Executive Director Christophe Dubi will take questions from the media by telephone. The reports are based, amongst others, on five-day working visits of the Commission at both candidates in March and April and assist IOC Members in selecting the Host City 2026. IBSF Secretary General Heike Größwang is member of the Evaluation Commission.
The election of the 2026 Olympic host will take place on 24 June during the 134th IOC Session in Lausanne. For the Olympic bobsleigh, skeleton and luge competitions, Stockholm plans to cooperate with the Latvian sliding track in Sigulda. Milan intends to reactivate the sliding track in Cortina. ©RWH2019
