Four-time Olympian Nelson Christian Stokes receives Jamaica’s sixth-highest national honour
Jamaica (IBSF) On the occasion of the celebration of Jamaica’s 57th anniversary of Independence the Government of Jamaica confers the Order of Distinction, in the rank of Officer on Nelson Christian Stokes for his contribution to the development of sport in Jamaica.
Nelson Christian Stokes, Chairman of the Jamaica Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation, first vice president of Jamaica’s National Olympic Committee and board member for Jamaica’s Olympians Association, is a four-time Olympian including being brakeman on the legendary 1988 bobteam which debuted in Calgary 1988.
The Order of Distinction is Jamaica’s sixth-highest national honour under the motto “Distinction Through Service”. ©IBSF2019
