Winterberg (RWH) The Winterberg Hochsauerland Sports Centre will officially represent the sporting state of North-Rhine Westphalia on German Unity Day on 3 October 2019. This decision was announced in a press release from Winterberg by Stephan Pieper, the managing director of the operator of the sliding sports track and ski jump park. “It's great news; we are really proud,” said Pieper.

This year’s main celebrations for German Unity Day will take place in the city of Kiel, capital of the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. Marking 29 years since the reunification, the motto of the two-day celebrations on 2 and 3 October is “Bravery brings people together”.

In the 2019/2020 season, the Winterberg sliding track will host the BMW IBSF Bob & Skeleton World Cup with the European Championships in 4-man Bobsleigh (3 to 5 January 2020). On February 8 + 9 the young athletes of the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF will compete in the Junior World Championships 2020. ©RWH2019
