Lausanne (RWH) The Pre-homologation of the National Sliding Center Yanqing, sliding sports venue at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, will be held from October 26th to November 1st 2020. This was agreed between the Beijing 2022 Organizing Committee BOCOG, the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF and the International Luge Federation FIL.

The pre-homologation test runs serve to test the field of play. The homologation-process validates the safety and drivability of the track as well as check on the infrastructure, logistic aspects and work flow.

The participants of the bobsleigh teams and skeleton athletes to conduct the first test runs, determined by the IBSF Executive Committee to give a sophisticated and different feedback due to their experience, stay the same:

Bobsleigh pilots:

  • Francesco Friedrich (GER), 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh
  • Oskars Kibermanis (LAT), 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh
  • Dominik Dvorak (CZE), 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh
  • Andreea Grecu (ROU), 2-woman bobsleigh and Women´s Monobob

Skeleton athletes:

The pre-homologation was planned for March 2020 but was postponed due to the spread out of the SARS-CoV-2, so called Coronavirus, which posed unexpected challenges ahead of the Organizing Committee.

The IBSF wants to thank the FIL for its close cooperation as well as BOCOG and the International Olympic Committee IOC for their support and expertise.
