BMW IBSF World Championships in February 2021 in Lake Placid

Lausanne (RWH) The 2020/2021 sports calendar of the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF features fourty World Cup races in the BMW IBSF World Cup series on eight different tracks in six countries on three continents.

Sigulda, hosting the World Cup finals in February 2020, will be the kick-off event for the BMW IBSF World Cup series from November 23 – 29, 2020. Latvia has been a great host with thousands of spectators for bobsleigh and skeleton during the last season presenting itself with a full stadium.

The BMW IBSF World Cup Series then continues in Innsbruck-Igls (AUT, December 7 – 13) and Altenberg (GER, December 14 – 20).

The new year 2021 will start in Winterberg (GER, January 4 – 10, 2021) before the BMW IBSF World Cup travels to St. Moritz (SUI, January 11 – 17) and Königssee (GER, January 18 – 24).

After six of eight World Cup locations, the bobsleigh and skeleton athletes then travel to North America for the season´s highlight: the BMW IBSF World Championships 2021 in Lake Placid (USA, February 1 – 14).

The seventh stop of the BMW IBSF World Cup is scheduled directly after the World Championships in Park City (USA, February 15 – 20).

The 2020/2021 BMW IBSF World Cup season is due to end with an International Training Period (February 25 – March 7) and the World Cup finals at the new track in Beijing (CHN, March 8 – 14) which will also be the Olympic test event.

The coordination of the other race series – Europe Cup, North American Cup, Intercontinental Cup, Para Sport World Cup and Women’s Monobob - is almost finished and should be made available in April. ©RWH2020
