Berchtesgaden/Oberhof (RWH) The 5th German Bobsleigh and Skeleton Push Championships and the international start competition scheduled for October 10, 2020 in Oberhof have to be cancelled due to the current corona pandemic. This was announced by the national federation Bob & Schlittenverband für Deutschland (BSD) in Berchtesgaden.

"We are very sorry, not only for the teams, but especially for the spectators, that we have to cancel the event for this year," explains jury president Matthias Höpfner in the BSD release. "Last year we had almost 500 spectators at the track, and the attraction of the event lives from the fact that the fans loudly cheer on our athletes close to the track. None of this would be possible this year.“

The first competitions of the new season for the German bobsleigh and skeleton drivers are the central performance tests, which will be held without spectators from September 18 to 20 (Bobsleigh) and from October 8 to 9 (Skeleton) on the Oberhof push track.
