Sigulda (RWH) The successful Latvian bobsleigh teams with 4-man bobsleigh Olympic Champion Oskars Melbārdis and 2020 2-man bobsleigh European Champion Oskars Ķibermanis are looking for new push athletes for the 2021/2022 Olympic season. Women can also apply for the national bobsleigh team - in 2022 in Beijing the disciplines 2-woman bobsleigh and monobob are on the Olympic programme for the female athletes. The Latvian skeleton athletes around record World Champion and overall World Cup winner Martins Dukurs also want to find promising new athletes.
So young men and women can register for selection trials on 15 May in the stadium of the Murjāņi Sports Gymnasium near Sigulda. The programme then includes short sprints and pushing a training sled. Testing will be done in small groups and according to current guidelines for protection against COVID-19 infections.
There is a form for the necessary registration in advance, the athletes will receive all further information with the invitation.
