Lausanne (RWH) The 2021 International Athletes’ Forum (IAF) is the largest gathering of athlete representatives across the Olympic Movement. The 10th edition on 26-27 May 2021 (both days 14:00 – 17:00 CEST) is the first to be held in a virtual format with live-streamed panel discussions and exclusive break-out sessions.
Athlete365, the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) athlete community, announced that invitations have been extended to all AC members globally, not just the AC chairs - to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the IOC’s Athletes’ Commission (AC) and also to take advantage of the fact that the Forum will be held digitally,. This gives more athlete representatives the opportunity to #ShareYourVoice and to discuss important matters in greater depth. The IAF 2021 will be streamed live on Athlete365.
Key discussion points will be Olympic Agenda 2020+5 athlete recommendations, Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022, and how to further empower and equip ACs. All info to schedule, speakers, topics etc can be found at the dedicated athlete365 website.
In the days leading up to the IAF, breakout sessions will be held giving athlete representatives the opportunity to engage and interact with their peers on a number of topics. Breakouts will be held per continent between 21-22 May, in addition to dedicated session on anti-doping (22 May) and Olympic Agenda 2020+5 (23 May).
