IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell to deliver opening address

Lausanne (RWH) The International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF is setting the stage for the 2021-2022 Olympic winter with its 2021 Annual Congress. In a two-day virtual Congress on September 16 and 17, the IBSF Executive Committee will present a retrospective of the past season, which was conducted under the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as an outlook for the upcoming Olympic season. The Executive Committee will answer Members' questions in the virtual and interactive format. At the Pre-Congress on September 16, delegates will hear reports from the various Vice Presidents as well as Secretary General Heike Grösswang. In addition, the Congress expects a presentation by Arram Kim, Education Manager of the PyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation. The pre-congress day will conclude with a report by the IBSF Good Governance Working Group.

The congress day on September 17 will be opened by IBSF President Ivo FerrianiKit McConnell, Sports Director of the International Olympic Committee IOC will deliver the opening address followed by the IBSF President's Report.  Member Federations will then be asked to approve the budget presented as well as to re-elect the members of the IBSF Audit Committee. In addition, the venues of various World Championships will be elected, including the 2024 and 2025 Bobsleigh & Skeleton World Championships. The congress day will traditionally conclude with the report by the Organizing Committee of the upcoming 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. ©RWH2021
