Vietnam and Cambodia with debut in Women’s Monobob
Park City (RWH) The IBSF Intercontinental Cup and the North American Cup 2021-2022 are currently underway in Park City in the USA, at the Olympic track of Salt Lake City 2002.
In the Intercontinental Cup, the victories in both races in the women's skeleton event went to Susanne Kreher (GER) ahead of team mate Sophia Griebel. Nicole Silveira from Brazil was third in both races and thus stood on the podium eight times in ten IBSF races in the Olympic winter - five of them as winner.
In the men's category, the first winner in Park City was Felix Keisinger (GER), the Junior World Champion of 2019 and 2020, ahead of the two Youth Olympic Champions Lukas Nydegger (GER, 2020) and Evgeniy Rukosuev (RUS, 2016). Lukas Nydegger then celebrated his first victory in the race series in the second ICC of Park City ahead of Rukosuev and last year's overall winner Felix Seibel (GER).
As part of the IBSF North American Cup, two races were scheduled for the Women's Monobob World Series. Canada's Alysia Rissling won both races in the discipline, which will be an Olympic event for the first time in Beijing in 2022, ahead of Brittany Reinbolt from the USA. Third places went to Nicole Vogt (USA) and Bianca Ribi (CAN). Trang Tran Thi Doan (VIE) and Keomororkot Kong (CAM) were the first athletes from Vietnam and Cambodia, who are part of the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF) with their National Federations since 2021. ©RWH2021
