Alysia Rissling undefeated in Monobob, Frank Del Duca wins in 2-man Bobsleigh
Lake Placid (RWH) With the last races of the season in Lake Placid the IBSF North American Cup 2021/2022 came to an end for the skeleton athletes. Brazilian Nicole Silveira in Women’s Skeleton and Nicholas Timmings from Australia in Men’s Skeleton were celebrated as overall winners. In 2-man Bobsleigh, US pilot Frank del Duca won the Overall North America Cup while Canadian Alysia Rissling woll all eight races at the North American part of Women’s Monobob World Series.
Nicole Silveira, who won the first five of eight races in Women‘s Skeleton North American Cup, won the ovverall ranking despite skipping the finale in favor of BMW IBSF World Cup races. Korean Lee Jeonghyeok finished second ahead of Leslie Stratton (SWE).
With winning the last two races of the winter in Lake Placid, Nicholas Timmings (AUS) overtook Ander Mirambell from Spain, who finished second overall just two points behind. Mirambell won the Overall North American Cup ranking in 2016 and 2020. Brendan Doyle from Ireland took third place in IBSF North American Cup 2021/2022.
In 2-man Bobsleigh, US pilot Frank del Duca celebrated the overall victory ahead of Taylor Austin (CAN) and Suk Joungjin (KOR).
The Women’s Monobob World Series 2021/2022 is part of all IBSF race series ahead of the Olympic debut at the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing. Canadian Alysia Rissling took all eight victories of the North American part of the tour, finishing the season with start and track record in Lake Placid. ©RWH2021
