The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) has issued its decision in the case of former Russian bobsleigh athlete Mr. Alexander Shcherbakov. He has been subject of a case based on the analysis of the Moscow Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
database.
The IBSF has rendered the following decision:
- Alexander Shcherbakov shall be declared ineligible for a period of two (2) years because of Anti-Doping Rule Violations as set forth in Article 2.2 ("Use of a Prohibited Substance and Use of a Prohibited Method") of the IBSF Anti-Doping Rules in their 2009 version, beginning on the date of this Decision, against which the period of the Provisional Suspension imposed on Mr. Alexander Shcherbakov on 30 March 2022 shall be credited.
- Alexander Shcherbakov's competitive results obtained since 20 September 2014 shall be disqualified with all of the resulting consequences, including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes as set forth in Article 10.8 of the IBSF Anti-Doping Rules in their 2009 version.
Mr. Shcherbakov did only compete in one IBSF event at all (Europe Cup Innsbruck November 2014).
The athlete has 21 days to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
