Olympic champion Beat Hefti of Switzerland finished third. The gold medalist of the 2014 Winter Games in Socchi competed with Beat Wullschleger.
In the skeleton race, which was held at the same time, Frank Kleber (GER), third in the 2004 World Championships, won the title. Second and third places went to Pascal Oswald, Swiss champion from 2010 to 2012, and David Mächler, once a participant in the World Championships for the Swiss. In the list of winners of the European Cup for seniors appear such renowned pilots as Wolfgang Zimmerer (GER), 1972 Olympic champion in the two-man bobsleigh and several times World champion, Werner Delle-Karth (AUT), who spoke the Olympic oath at the opening ceremony of the 1964 Winter Games, and Ekkehard Fasser.
