Bath (RWH) British bobsleigh pilot Paula Walker retires. The 2011 Junior World Champion announced her decision on her Facebook page. “It's been a very tough decision to leave the British Bobsleigh family but, after having my daughter Poppy, all my time and attention needs to go to her,” the 29-years-old said according to a press release at teamgb.com.  “We’ve got a lot to thank Paula for,” added British Bobsleigh performance director Gary Anderson. “Paula winning the World Junior Championships in Park City in 2011 helped put British Bobsleigh back on the map.“

The two-times Olympian (11th in Vancouver 2010 and 12th 2014 in Sochi) did not compete in the 2014-2015 season after giving birth to daughter Poppy in November. The father is British bobsleigh teammate John James Jackson, fifth in four man bob at the Sochi Winter Olympics and the 2013 World Championships.
