Maximilian Arndt second ahead of Rico Peter

Königssee (RWH) Nico Walther of Germany has achieved his first victory of the season in the BMW IBSF World Cup in Königssee. Pushed by Marko Hübenbecker, Gregor Bermbach and Eric Franke he won the third four-man bobsleigh race in the winter of 2015/2016. Second place went to World Champion Maximilian Arndt (GER, 0.18 seconds back) and his crew of Kevin Korona, Kevin Kuske and Martin Putze. After two fourth places at the start of the season, Rico Peter of Switzerland made a first podium appearance, coming in third 0.38 seconds behind with his team of Thomas Amrhein, Bror van der Zijde and Simon Friedli.
In his first race since the Sochi Olympics in 2014, John James Jackson of Great Britain, who took silver in the 2014 European Championships, came eighth with Bradley Hall, Bruce Tasker and Ben Simons.
Austria’s Benjamin Maier and his crew of Stefan Laussegger, Markus Sammer and Danut Moldovan came ninth, their first top-ten placing of the season.
After the third of eight races in the BMW IBSF World Cup 2015/2016, the winner of the first two four-man races, Francesco Friedrich of Germany, continues to head the overall standings with 642 points after a fourth in Königssee. Nico Walther is second with 635 points and Maximilian Arndt overall third with 620 points.
