Bath (RWH) British bobsleigh pilot John James Jackson, 2014 European Championships silver medallist with his four man crew, retires. „After over a decade competing for @The_BBSA & @TeamGB it's now time for me to hang up my spikes. Thanks for all the support“, the 39 years old athlete wrote on Twitter.
John Jackson was a specialist for the four man bob. Besides his European Championships silver, he finished fifth at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and fifth at the 2013 World Championships in St. Moritz. His best result in World Cup Tour was rank two in Lake Placid in the 2013/2014 season, 2012/2013 he finished fifth overall.
Together with his wife Paula, eleventh at the 2010 Vancoucer Olympics and 2011 Great Britains first Junior World Champion in womens bobsleigh, John James Jackson has a two years old daughter and new born twins. ©RWH2016
