Bedford (RWH) Bobsleigh push athlete Joel Fearon of Great Britain is the joint-third fastest 100m runner of his country. At the English Athletics Championships in Bedford, the 27-years-old clocked a time of 9,96 seconds.
As the BBC reports, Chijindu Ujah, the 2016 European Champion with the 4x100m relay, also has a personal best of 9,96 seconds. Only fellow Britons Linford Christie (9,87 seconds), 1992 Olympic Champion, and James Dasaolu (9,91 seconds), 2014 European Champion, have run the100m faster.. According to the report, Joel Fearon will not join the already selected Dasaolu, Ujah and James Ellington at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "My focus is really on the bobsleigh at the Winter Olympics“, Joel Fearon said in an interview on athleticsweekly.com.
Joel Fearon was part of the four-man bobsleigh team of pilot John James Jackson, finishing fifth at the 2013 World Championships and at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi (RUS).
