Park City (RWH) The Federation US Bobsled & Skeleton (USABS) announced it’s bobsleigh team for the BMW IBSF World Cup 2016-2017.
Pilot Elana Meyers Taylor had a bye through trials after placing third at World Championships last season. The 2014 Olympic Silver medallist and 2015 World Champion will be accompanied by 2014 Olympic bronze medallist Jamie Greubel Poser and World Cup rookie pilot Brittany Reinbolt. Push athletes Aja Evans, Lolo Jones, Lauren Gibbs, Kehri Jones and rookie Briauna Jones round out the field in women’s bobsleigh.
Codie Bascue, 2010 Olympic Champion (four man bob) Steven Holcomb and rookie World Cup pilot Justin Olsen, who won two World Championships and one Olympic gold meldal pushing Steven Holcomb, earned the three open pilot spots on the men's team. US national team push athletes are Carlo Valdes, Jimmy Reed, Adrian Adams, Sam Michener, Evan Weinstock, Sam McGuffie, Nathan Gilsleider Austin Landis, Frank Del Duca, Luis Moreira and Christopher Kinney.
