Elana Meyers Taylor finishes in second in Lake Placid with Kaillie Humphries in third

Lake Placid (RWH): Team USA take first and second place at the BMW IBSF World Cup in Lake Placid: Top spot in the two-woman bobsleigh went to Jamie Greubel Poser (USA). With her brakeswoman Aja Evans, the Olympic bronze medallist improved on the two-year-old track record for Lake Placid by almost half a second to make it 55.80 seconds.
Their team mates Elana Meyers Taylor, the 2015 World Champion, and Lolo Jones finished the second World Cup race of the pre-Olympic season in second place (0.14 seconds behind). Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries and her brakeswoman Cynthia Appiah came in third (1.03 seconds behind).
The third US pairing, Brittany Reinbolt/Lauren Gibbs, finished in fourth, the best World Cup result to date for pilot Reinbolt.
Jamie Greubel Poser (USA) and Kaillie Humphries (CAN) are neck and neck on 425 points in the overall standings for the 2016/2017 BMW IBSF World Cup after the second of eight races. Christina Hengster (AUT, 386), who came sixth in Lake Placid, is in third place in the World Cup overall standings. ©RWH2016-2017
