Elana Meyers Taylor second ahead of Christina Hengster

Altenberg (RWH): Olympic Champion Kaillie Humphries has just won her second race of the season. At the third race in the BMW IBSF World Cup season in Altenberg (GER), the Canadian and her brakewoman Melissa Lotholz finished 0.70 seconds ahead of the US duo of Elana Meyers Taylor/Kehri Jones. Christina Hengster/Sanne Dekker of Austria finished in third (0.78 seconds behind).

An Vannieuwenhuyse/Sara Aerts of Belgium, who were third after the first run, missed out on their first World Cup podium finish by just two tenths of a second to come fourth.

Christin Senkel of Germany, who was the brakewoman for Sandra Kiriasis when they finished fourth at the 2010 Olympics in Whistler, finished her World Cup début as a pilot in eleventh place with her brakewoman Ann-Christin Strack.

Kaillie Humphries (CAN, 650 points) continues to lead the overall standings in the 2016/2017 BMW IBSF World Cup. Jamie Greubel Poser (USA, 609), who finished fifth in Altenberg, is second overall, ahead of Christina Hengster (AUT, 586). ©RWH2016-2017
