PyeongChang (RWH): Korea’s bobsleigh athletes will start the 2017/2018 Olympic season – where the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang will be the highlight – with Bobsleigh Olympic Champion Pierre Lueders as their caretaker head coach.
The Canadian Pierre Lueders won Olympic Gold in the 2-man bobsleigh in Nagano in 1998 and Olympic Silver in Turin in 2006. As well as winning the 2-man bobsleigh World Championships in 2004 and 2005, he also won six more World Championship medals and the overall World Cup on eleven separate occasions (six times in the 2-man bobsleigh, once in the 4-man bobsleigh and four times in the combined rankings).
After retiring as an athlete, Pierre Lueders began his career as a junior coach in Canada in 2010. In 2012, he switched to head coach for Russia, where he won Olympic Gold in the 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh with Alexander Zubkov in Sochi in 2014. ©RWH2017
