Briton Corie Mapp takes the lead in IBSF Para Bobsleigh World Cup

Innsbruck (RWH) Alvils Brants from Latvia is the first ever European Champion in Para Bobsleigh. The sixth race to IBSF Para Bobsleigh World Cup in Innsbruck (AUT) also counted as European Championships for the athletes from Europe. Gold went to Alvils Brants ahead of Corie Mapp (GBR, 0.46 seconds back) with silver. One hundredth of a second behind, Guro Konstanse Fronsdal from Norway (0.47 seconds back) won European Championships bronze.

In the overall ranking of IBSF Para Bobsleigh World Cup 2017/2018, Briton Corie Mapp (632 points) took the lead ahread of defending champion Lonnie Bissonnette (CAN, 610). European Champion Alvils Brants (LAT, 606) is currently third overall.

At the Para Bobsleigh races in Innsbruck, a total of 19 athletes from twelve countries and three continents hit the start line, including three women.

The IBSF Para Sport World Cup continues on January 25+26, 2018 in Oberhof (GER). For IBSF Para Bobsleigh World Cup 2017/2018, a total of ten races are scheduled. ©RWH2018
