Sigulda (RWH) Latvian bobsleigh push athlete Daumants Dreiškens, 2014 Olympic silver medallist and 2016 World Champion in 4-man bobsleigh with pilot Oskars Melbardis, will work as bobsleigh coach for Latvia. That was announced in a press release at bobslejs.lv.
The 34 years old, who was carrying the Latvian flag at the opening ceremony of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, will focus on the recruitment of new athletes.
Additionally, Daumants Dreiškens continues training as a spare athlete. “"He will stay fit and if there is a need to replace another athlete, then he can help out", said Zintis Ekmanis, Secretary General of the Latvian Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation. ©RWH2018
