Großgmain (RWH) The Olympic discipline Women's Monobob will have six training and racing events in North America and Europe in the winter of 2018-2019.
For junior women up to the age of 24, there will be training weeks with concluding races in Lillehammer (NOR, 29 October - 5 November, two races), Park City (USA, 13-19 November 2018), Lake Placid (USA, 23-30 November 2018), Königssee (GER, 10-14 December 2018) and Calgary (CAN, 3-10 January 2019).
The program will be supplemented by additional training camps at Königssee (GER, 19-25 November 2018), La Plagne (FRA, 18-24 March 2019) and Lake Placid (USA, 1 - 7 April 2019).
Development Coordinator Manfred Maier, North American Cup Coordinator Nicola Minichiello and Gatis Guts are organizing the program, which includes support from IBSF coaches. The IBSF offers monobobs for rent to all participants.
Registration is possible for all events in 2018 until October 1st. For 2019, the national federations will be able to register their pilots by 15 December.
In July 2018, the International Olympic Committee IOC decided to include Women's Monobob in the Olympic program. The Monobob women will make their first appearance at the Winter Games 2022 in Beijing (CHN). © RWH2018
