Winterberg (RWH) Mariama Jamanka in 2-woman bobsleigh and Nico Walther in 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh are the German Champions 2019, as the federation Bob- und Schlittenverband für Deutschland (BSD) reports.
Olympic Champion Mariama Jamanka and push athlete Annika Drazek won the four-heat race ahead of Stephanie Schneider with Ann-Christin Strack. Third place went to Anna Köhler / Lisa-Sophie Gericke.
Nico Walther, PyeongChang Olympic silver medallist in the 4-man bobsleigh, won the German Championship in 2-man bobsleigh with Paul Krenz ahead of Johannes Lochner / Christopher Weber and Christoph Hafer / Tobias Schneider.
In 4-man bobsleigh, Nico Walther secured the national title ahead of the teams of Christof Hafer and World Champion Johannes Lochner.
The German Championships are part of the team's selection races for the 2018/2019 winter season.
PyeongChang Double Olympic champion Francesco Friedrich, who has a bye onto the German team for BMW IBSF World Cup,  had decided against a start in Winterberg in both the 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh and focused on material testing instead. © RWH2018
