In the first of two races in Calgary Olympic Park (CAN), Andreas Kapfinger won ahead of 2016 Para Sport World Champion Lonnie Bissonnette from Canada and US pilot Christ Rasmussen.
In the second race, Guro Fronsdal was leading after the first run and managed to hold a 0.01 seconds advantage ahead of Andreas Kapfinger after the second heat. The Norwegian became the second woman to win one of the mixed-gender IBSF Para Sport World Cup races after Latvia’s Annija Krumina winning also in Calgary in November 2017.
On rank three, USA’s Steven Jacobo tied with Christ Rasmussen and celebrated his first ever World Cup podium.
In the Overall ranking of IBSF Para Sport World Cup 2018/2019, Andreas Kapfinger (AUT, 450 points) took the lead from Lonnie Bissonnette (CAN, 442), who won the first races of the season in Park City and finished second and fifth in Calgary. Dave Nicholls (ISR, 356) is third overall. The pilot narrowly missed out the first podium for Israel, finishing fourth in the first Calgary race.
