Lillehammer (RWH) Bobsleigh pilot Lonnie Bissonnette, Para Sport World Champion of 2016, is the new leader in the IBSF Para Sport World Cup after two wins in Lillehammer (NOR). With now 682 points after six out of ten races, the Canadian took over the lead of Andreas Kapfinger (AUT). The Austrian, currently second with 574 points, previously in Calgary (CAN) celebrated his first victory in the IBSF race series for disabled Bobsleigh athletes.

Overall third is the Norwegian Guro Fronsdal with 510 points. She was the second woman to win an IBSF Para Sport race at the World Cup station in Calgary. In November 2017, the first female athlete to win was Latvias Annija Krumina, then also in Calgary.

The Spanish athlete Israel Blanco Amorin in Lillehammer celebrated his first podium places in the race series, finishing third and second.

The IBSF Para Sport World Cup will be continued on 19 and 20 January 2019 in Oberhof (GER). Then the seventh and eighth of ten races this winter are on the program. © RWH2019
