St. Moritz (RWH) Bobsleigh pilot Christopher Stewart from Switzerland is the 2019 European Para-Sport Champion. At the season finale on his home track in St. Moritz (SUI) Stewart celebrated his third victory in the IBSF Para Sport World Cup and secured the Gold medal in the European Championship classification of the race. Second in the World Cup was Lonnie Bissonnette of Canada (0.44 seconds back), who took the overall victory in the IBSF Para Sport World Cup for the third time after 2016 and 2017.
Third place in St. Moritz as well as European Championships silver celebrated Nikolai Johann of Germany (0.53 seconds back) ahead of Sweden's Sebastian Westin (0.63 seconds back) with bronze.
Lonnie Bissonnette, who had won four of the ten season World Cups and finished runner-up three times, claimed victory in the 2018/2019 Overall World Cup with 1078 points. Andreas Kapfinger from Austria finished second overall with 890 points ahead of Briton Corie Mapp (868). © RWH2019
