Düsseldorf (RWH) Great honour for Alois Schnorbus. The long-time president of the BSC Winterberg, former company officer with statutory authority of the Winterberg sliding track and 1980 Olympian was awarded with the badge of honour in sport from the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The 67-year-old Schnorbus was granted the highest distinction for sports in Düsseldorf, the capital of NRW.

Together with Schnorbus, Ingrid Klimke, several times Olympic, World and European Champion in equestrian eventing, and handball legend Heiner Brand, World Champion as a player as well as a coach, and other sports personalities were also awarded. Since the inauguration of the badge in 1959, 887 athletes and volunteers and three teams were honoured. ©RWH2019
