Altenberg (RWH) Youth Olympic Champion Laura Nolte, Junior World Champion Richard Oelsner and Christoph Hafer are the new German Bobsleigh Champions.

U23 World Championships silver medallist Laura Nolte and push athlete Deborah Levi in ​​ 2-woman Bobsleigh won their first German Championship title. Kim Kalicki/Viktoria Dönike finished second ahead of World Championships silver medallists Stefanie Schneider/Ann-Christin Strack.

Junior World Champion Richard Oelsner with Issam Ammour on his home track in Altenberg surprisingly won the title in the 2-man Bobsleigh ahead of Christoph Hafer/Christian Hammers. European Championships silver medallist Johannes Lochner came in third with Christian Rasp.

In the 4-man Bobsleigh, the team of Christoph Hafer secured the national title just ahead of Bobsleigh team Richard Oelsner. Johannes Lochner, 2019 European Champion and 2017 World Champion, came in third.

The German Bobsleigh Championships were part of the selection races for the BMW IBSF World Cup 2019/2020. The Olympic and World Champions Mariama Jamanka and Francesco Friedrich are already set for the World Cup team. For the other teams, the final selection races at Königssee (15-16 November) are about the remaining two World Cup spots per discipline. The German team will be announced on 19 November. ©RWH2019
