Cynthia Appiah and Anastasiia Makarova win in Lake Placid and Lillehammer
Lake Placid / Lillehammer (RWH) With races in Lake Placid (USA) and Lillehammer (NOR), the Women's Monobob series of the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF started in the 2019-2020 winter.
In Lake Placid the victory went to Canadian Cynthia Appiah ahead of Yooran Kim from Korea and Ashleigh Werner (AUS). Russian Anastasiia Makarova won in Lillehammer just ahead of Margot Boch from France. Karlien Sleper from the Netherlands finished third.
A total of 32 athletes from 17 nations competed in the two monobob races at the start of the season. The next of a total of eight races is scheduled for December 19 at Königssee (GER). Women's Monobob will be part of the Olympic program for the first time in 2022 at the Winter Games in Beijing (CHN). ©RWH2019
