Königssee (RWH) Andreea Grecu (ROU, 2-woman Bobsleigh), Oskars Melbardis (LAT, 2-man Bobsleigh) and Jonas Jannusch (GER, 4-man Bobsleigh) won the races to Europe Cup at Königssee (GER) to conclude the IBSF racing year 2019.

In 2-woman Bobsleigh, Andreea Grecu from Romania defended her overall lead with her third win of the season. The 2018 Junior World Champion has been on the podium at all five Europe Cups so far. Margot Boch from France is second overall ahead of the German Anne Lobenstein.

In 2-man Bobsleigh, Olympic bronze medalist Oskars Melbardis celebrated his first win this winter ans took second place in the overall standings behind U23 European Champion Mihai Tentea (ROU). Maximilian Illmann (GER) is third after five of eight season races.

In 4-man Bobsleigh, six Europe Cups have already been completed with the two races at Königssee. Youth Olympic Champion Jonas Jannusch, who celebrated two victories at Königssee, leads by almost 100 points. Mihai Tentea (ROU) is second overall ahead of 2014 4-man Olympic Champion Oskars Melbardis (LAT).

For the 2-man and 2-woman Bobsleigh athletes, the IBSF Europe Cup will continue in Sigulda on January 18 and 19, 2020. The finals with the European Junior Championships is scheduled from January 30th to February 1st in Innsbruck (AUT). ©RWH2019
