Winterberg (RWH) Bobsleigh pilot Nico Walther (GER) is back in the BMW IBSF World Cup. The World Championships bronze medallist in 2-man Bobsleigh qualified in an internal selection in the German team and secured his World Cup and World Championships spot alongside double World Champion Francesco Friedrich. Nico Walther had missed the first two World Cup stops in Lake Placid due to injury.
National coach René Spies has postponed the decision for the third spot for the second half of the season, as was reported by the German federation BSD. Johannes Lochner has been nominated for the upcoming World Cup including 4-man Bobsleigh European Championships in Winterberg. The defending European Champion in the 4-man Bobsleigh had already been on the World Cup podium in Lake Placid. ©RWH2020
